Valentine's For Fire Victims

In an inspiring act of kindness and empathy, the seventh-grade students at Spring Canyon Middle have reached out to peers affected by the devastating California wildfires. After learning about the tragic loss of Palisades Charter School, which was destroyed in the fires, the SCMS students decided to create and send heartfelt valentines to the displaced students.

Palisades Charter, now temporarily sharing a campus with Brentwood Elementary Science Magnet, has been struggling to regain a sense of normalcy. The thoughtful gesture from SCMS students aims to offer emotional support and remind the affected students that they are not alone in their recovery journey.

The project involved all seventh-grade classes, with students dedicating time to craft the valentines. Each card was personalized with messages of hope and encouragement, reflecting the genuine empathy and solidarity of the SCMS community.

The valentines have been sent to Brentwood Elementary Science Magnet, where they will be distributed to the students of Palisades Charter. The SCMS community hopes that these small tokens of support will bring a smile to the faces of the students as they continue to navigate this challenging period.
