Aiyana Stoker, a 6th grade student in Mrs. McAfee’s Social Studies class, taught about Navajo Code Talkers in World War II. Aiyana is Navajo and is proud of the contributions of her people. The Navajo created a secret, unbreakable code they used as radio operators in the US Marines. They are credited with being essential to the Allied victory. Aiyana is pictured wearing traditional Navajo clothing riding across the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. She is also shown at a pow-wow in  fancier traditional clothing worn when competing in traditional Navajo dance.
